December Sailing News
Dear member,
Happy December and I hope everyone is keeping well. Storm Bert derailed us for a week, but we had another strong turnout on Sunday for the start of our winter series; not only a good turnout (10+ boats) but also a wide variety of classes which helps to keep the racing interesting throughout the fleet. We have a full winter programme, with a good mix of trophies up for grabs, including some personal handicap events, so keep sailing if you can.
Particular thanks to our duty teams at this time of year. We appreciate all of your efforts and often forget that it is colder sat in the safety boat and race hut than it is actually sailing. Thank you and stay warm …
Weather permitting, we are hoping to award some additional festive prizes this December so keep a look out on the sailing calendar; hopefully several of you will have a Christmas pudding to put on your table at Christmas courtesy of your sailing prowess.
I would just like to say one additional thing. Dave Stockton recently completed his 3-year term as Commodore, and I would like to add my thanks for all his effort and commitment during that time. I'm not going to list them out, but the achievements were numerous and positive for our sailing club - thank you Dave. Were very grateful to Doug Phillips for taking up the reigns and we wish him well over the coming year.
Just in case you were not aware you can find the minutes of committee meetings and AGMs (and all sorts of other useful things) on the members' area of the club website.
Hope to see you out sailing soon,
Nick
